Project: Infrared – Another World

The beautiful world of infrared – where ordinary things may look strange or bizarre. Like the photograph of Seattle’s Space Needle below, taken in 2007 during my visit to Washington,  or even the Paris’ Eiffel Tower.

Depending on the infrared filter, camera and processing itself the well known green foliage turns into white (or yellow) and the sky becomes dark blue. Sometimes the photograph looks like it was taken during the winter, with snow covering ground and trees.

With my older camera (Nikon D80) the duration of exposure was rather long – in the range of 30 seconds or more, but it is going to change soon. I have decided to turn it into a Infrared-only camera which will allow me to take infrared photographs as I would be taking any ordinary photos 🙂

No more waiting for a long period of time for a photo! Just point & shoot 🙂

Winter in the middle of summer in Hawaii? Why not 🙂
