I’ve been playing around with infrared photography since late 2006, ever since I got my first digital camera – Nikon D80. In the beginning I used the Hoya R72 infrared filter which, combined with the long exposure created some interesting effects, though the usage was limited and required a tripod (30s+ due to strong built-in IR blocker). Few years later I’ve decided to convert my camera to Infrared-Only and used LifePixel company to do the Enhanced Color IR […]
Another weekend, another event – this time Cherry Blossom Festival which started last Saturday. The Festival takes place in Auburn Botanic Gardens between August 22 and August 30. The Botanical Gardens were full of people and it was really hard to take a photo without having hundreds of people in it. Some people were dressed in traditional Japanese kimonos, while others did cosplay. Here are some photos:
Last Sunday a group of about 40 members of Not only Black and White Meetup group met in Mittagong and explored abandoned Toohey’s factory. Here are some of my photos (mixture of normal and infrared).
I’ve noticed that since moving to Sydney I haven’t done much shooting in infrared, despite being in one of the best places on Earth to do so (because it requires a lot of sun). So, in January I’ve decided to visit beautiful Waverley Cemetery located in Bronte, NSW (few km south of Bondi Beach). Usual processing of the color infrared photos involved Red/Blue channel swap and application of my custom Infrared Lightroom preset. Enjoy 🙂
A couple of days ago I’ve found myself at the Circular Quay in Sydney – it was late afternoon and the place was swarming with tourists and locals alike. I was participating in an Sydney Icons Night Photography event for which I RSVP for at Meetup.com. The idea behind the meeting was to take photos of Circular Quay, Harbour Bridge and Opera House in the evening & night light. I ended up taking photos well into the night mostly because […]
Few photos from our trip to Europe – taken in Infrared using converted Nikon D80. This project is about delicate, almost magical places and lands, in other words: Ethereal Lands.
Here are some photos I took using converted Nikon D80 – taken during my recent trip to Boise, ID as well as previous trips to Oregon. Expect more IR photos as I’ll be traveling soon again. I will also post some IR photos from last year’s trip to Europe once I’m done processing (long time overdue). Conversion was done by LifePixel (located in Mukilteo, WA) and I have chosen the Enhanced Color IR Filter (according to the site it is […]
