                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  The weekend has arrived and along with nice weather (finally!) came thousands of fans of Anime (Japanese Animation), called Otaku. Seattle Convention Center was filled to the brim with people dressed in costumes from multitude of different movies, series and games (sometimes not particularly Japanese). Legend of Zelda, Princess Mononoke, Bleach, Pokémon, Homestuck (MS Paint Adventures), Catherine, Assassins Creed, Avatar: The Last Airbender just to name a few. So far I’ve covered part of Friday, but will try to attend the remaining two days of the convention taking photos of the participants (and adding them to the blog). Below is a part of Friday’s coverage – I’m working hard on processing them all, though there’s still a lot of photos to go through. Update: 1. This is the entire (or at least 99% of the photos I had chosen) set from Day 1 – I might add a few photos at a later date, but otherwise I consider this set complete. 2. Photos are named using the following pattern YYYY.MM.DD @ HH MM SS – DSCxxxx.jpg For example – for the same photo, you can provide either: 2012.04.06 @ 15 58 35 – _DSC6903.jpg That way I can quickly identify the photo you want and send it your way Thanks! This weekend Seattle became the Mecca for Sci-Fi and Fantasy fans as the Emerald City Comicon 2012 (ECCC 2012) took place at the Convention Center. Thousands of visitors, many with gorgeous costumes, traversed along comic booths and long lines for food. It turned out we were lucky to get our tickets early morning on Saturday, as around mid-day the organizers either stopped selling, or throttled down the sale. Just to name some of the costumes, as there were many, many others:
                                                                                                                                                                                                              On the 4th floor there was a huge display of characters and scenes from movies made entirely of LEGO blocks – I must admit, LEGO came a long way since my childhood, evolved into something adored by both adults and children alike. I’m really looking forward to the BrickCon 2012, which will take place on October 6th at Seattle Center Exibition Hall Please contact me if you recognize yourself and would like to get a higher resolution photo. |
